The wildfires that swept by Los Angeles final week wreaked devastation on the lives of scholars, educators, and households. Because the neighborhood struggles to recuperate, 1000’s of scholars face the tough actuality that their colleges might by no means reopen, whereas educators and households navigate important losses.
With at the least seven faculty buildings decreased to rubble, Los Angeles Unified College District is scrambling to relocate displaced college students.
The work of photojournalists who braved the fires and their aftermath captures haunting photographs of what was left behind — the charred body of a college bus, valuable preschoolers’ art work — and what has been misplaced perpetually.
